The principal duty of the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EM) is to serve the other members of the community at the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The sign of Holy Communion is the sharing of the body and blood of Christ with others. There is a regular schedule for Sundays, but on weekdays it is on a voluntary basis. Eucharistic Ministers can also be trained to bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.
