From Western Queens/Manhattan:
LIE to Clearview Expressway (exit 27). Take Clearview Expressway towards the Throggs Neck Bridge (northbound). Exit Clearview Expressway at 35th Ave (exit 6A) At traffic light, make left on to 35th Ave. and go to 203rd street make right. Church is on the left.

From Brooklyn:
Brooklyn Queens Expressway or Van Wyck Expressway to Long Island Expressway. Take LIE eastbound and follow directions above.

From East:
IE or Grand Central to Clearview Expressway. Take Clearview Expressway towards the Throggs Neck Bridge (northbound). Exit Clearview Expressway at 35th Ave (exit 6A) At traffic light, make left onto 35th Ave. and go to 203rd street make right. Church is on the left.

From the Bronx/Connecticut/New Jersey:
Cross over the Throggs Neck Bridge into Queens. Follow signs towards Clearview Expressway. Exit Clearview Expressway at 26th Ave. (exit 6B). At third traffic light, make a right onto 35th Ave. and go to 203rd street make right. Church is on the left.

LIRR:
Take Port Washington Line to Auburndale Station
1. Head north on 192nd St toward 39th Ave
2. Turn right at 36th Ave/Crocheron Ave Continue to follow Crocheron Ave
3. Continue on 35th Ave
4. Turn left at 203rd St OLBS will be on the left

Subway:
The nearest subway station is the Main St – Flushing Station (7 Line). Then follow directions for the Q28 bus.

Bus:
Q28 – Catch bus at 39 Ave and 138 St. Take to Francis Lewis Blvd and 34th Ave. Turn left onto 34th Ave, continue to 203rd Street – OLBS is on your right.

Q31 – Take bus toward Bayside, get off at 32nd Ave and 204th street. Head west on 32nd Ave toward 203th St, Turn left at 203rd St and walk 2 blocks. OLBS will on your right.

Reverend Nathaniel Ajuluchukwu
Pastor
Reverend Robert J. Whelan

A native of Westchester and Rockaway Beach, Father Bob was ordained a priest in 1983 and has served in several parishes in Brooklyn and Queens as well as the Diocesan Vocations Office. Fr. Bob was appointed Pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in June of 2008 and relishes his role as leader of this dynamic parish.

Reverend Ernest Makata

Fr. Ernest Makata is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Nsukka, Nigeria. He was born on June 2, 1976 and ordained on July 16, 2005. He currently works as pa art-time Associate Pastor and a part-time Chaplain at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Queens. Fr. Ernest is a graduate student of International Communications at St. John’s University, New York. He joined OLBS in July 2019.

Mrs. Joan Kane

Joan Kane has served the families of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament School since 1998. She is currently completing her second Master’s Degree at St. Johns University. The proud mother of two children, Mrs. Kane, and her dedicated faculty foster an excellent educational environment and make OLBS School a true home away from home.

Director of music ministry
Mr. Michael Martinka

Michael Martinka began his music ministry at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament at age 12. Michael first started with piano for a couple of years and then added organ study a few years later. He continued his musical education at the Aaron Copland School of Music where he studied piano and music theory.

Coordinator of religious education
Mrs. Jeannine Iocco

Mrs. Iocco and her husband have been parishioners of OLBS for 25 years. This is her second year serving as Coordinator of Religious Education. She has a Master’s degree in Information Systems and a Master’s Certificate in Catholic Education from Catholic Distance University. Mrs. Iocco has two boys who graduated from OLBS. She is thrilled to be here serving the parish children in preparing for their sacraments and teaching them about Jesus.

Pastoral associate
Sister Nora Gatto, DC

Sister Nora has served in many roles, mostly in Education and Spiritual Formation, since becoming a Daughter of Charity in 1976. She was born in Jackson Heights, raised in Elmont, and graduated from St. John’s University (BA in Theology) and Fairfield University (MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Direction). She serves as a Pastoral Associate, and lives with several other Daughters of Charity in the convent at OLBS.

Youth minister
Mrs. Kathleen Giuliano

Kathleen is a life-long parishioner and OLBS graduate, class of 1997. She was a founding member of the parish youth group, CTC, from 1999-2001. She has been the Parish Youth Minister since 2015, and coordinates both the CTC and Teen Club. She has received a Certificate of Completion for the Diocesan Catholic Youth Ministry Training Program.

Administrative assistant
Mrs. Marsha Quilang

Marsha graduated with a B.S. Commerce major in Economics. Prior to her job at OLBS, she was working from home as a Online Business Manager and a Social Media Manager. All of these while she fulfills her role as a mother to three wonderful boys. She also serves as Service Ministry Council in El Shaddai Flushing Chapter in St. Michael's Church.
